Personality & Traits

General Overview With a cynical twist of wit, Nauket executes her words with meticulous care. Her humor is light and at times a little uncalled for. Though she tries to find the humor in just about anything, there is a darkness to her wit. Still, Nauket deeply cares for her place in Starfleet and friends made along the way to her current position. She keeps a cold exterior surrounding her at all times, causing a friction between her personal relationships and job. In fact, one would say she has never grained a true friend since childhood. With a mutual respect between her and the right people, she has been able to succeed respectively through Starfleet. Although many Cardassians have said Nauket has lost her loyalty (to Cardassia), others have said it is merely misplaced. Her question of loyalty may be questionable to some but it doesn't take long to discover just where her true intentions lie.

Nauket attentions herself with detail at every corner, giving her the earned title of a ruthless and prominently successful intelligence gatherer. Her years raised on Cardassia had helped her learn how to manipulate people the right way in to getting what she needed with information, but in recent years she found it difficult to figure out humans and their need for socialization. While she had played a good role in utilizing that expertise, she found it difficult to give out in her own command position. Her air comes off as superior, even harsh and cruel, yet there is nothing she would not do to ensure the success and safety of those around her, be it a Starfleet Officer or Civilian. Again and again she had proved herself behind closed doors how much she would do for someone else, but refuses to take claim for any bright corners of the universe she helps shine. It is often her downfall as well as the source making her so genuine.

The few friendships Nauket had been able to form came from the time she spent living on Cardassia as a spy for the Federation. Her closest companions, also her coworkers in ensuring the Dominion war ended the right way, had stuck with her through thick and thin. They never asked questions, never denied or faltered and simply did what was right. Even though they had marched down separate paths upon arriving back on Bajor at the end of the war, they share an unspoken bond that Nauket feels can never be replicated. It is that very fact that keeps her from forming any sort of relationship with others, be it friend or lover.
Strengths & Weaknesses Characteristically speaking, Nauket is a outwardly gentle woman. To friends around her, she enjoys to take part in the daily rituals of socializing. Gaining friendships had always been a difficult task that was triumphed with great virility for the lovely Cardassian woman. Behind closed doors, however, Nauket is a lethal business woman, so to speak. She takes her position in Starfleet very seriously and will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

On the physical front, Nauket is quite skilled in hand to hand combat, having received the proper training to take down almost any opponent even when the factors are out of her favor. She is able to push herself to the limits and beyond when it comes to it. If she is needed to be awake for several days, she can do so and that goes for food, shelter, etc. Her only downfall is that she often neglects to take care of herself with needed things such as sustenance intake. Often times she will go out of her way to avoid eating, especially in public. As she is aware of the fact most humans are disgusted by many Cardassian foods, it helps to maintain a human diet when with others. This causes her to eat very little food in a sitting, finding human food an unattractive taste. "I've already eaten," she'll find herself saying soon after, as her stomach begins to growl.
On a strict factual side, Nauket is a keen linguistic. Deciphering most unknown languages had often fallen to her when the opportunity arose. At the same time, she is able to fluently speak English, Bajoran, Klingon, and of course Cardassian while currently coming to understand and learn Romulan.
While strengths are not everything in a world of both good and bad, Nauket has her share of weaknesses. Her last psychological assessment before her current had labeled the woman as "Disconnected" and "unable to form deep bonds with others." While outwardly this may not have been true, there is somewhat of a truth to the statement. Her ability to seemingly coerce her place in the quadrant ever changing had left a residual feeling of detachment. While she can be unexpectedly charming, there is always a dangling string that disappears just as fast from truly getting to know her.

Being a serious member of Starfleet is not always a strength on another hand. At times restraint from using her tools learned from Cardassia may show and cause a disturbance in the air among fellow crew. Yet the balance between being a Cardassian and member of the Federation can be a hard scale to even. It is only the greatest Strength that Nauket displays in never weighing one side to the ground.
Ambitions Personal.
Hobbies & Interests Enjoying other cultures has always been a somewhat hobby of Nauket's. It may have been the result of her training that sparked the keen grasp on both language and etiquette. She is very well at grasping the basic language structures of new languages both orally and written. In a matter of a month she is able to hold a basic conversation in almost any language she studies. Having a fascination of getting to know others on a cultural level has always been a great starting point for forming friendships. Though she is culturally tolerant and interested, enjoying their food and experiencing it are always two different things. Unfortunately, her inability to properly express herself brings up the cold exterior that often brings her to the back of the line in socializing with new people and cultures. It's still not something she has been willing to try and fix.
Languages Standard Federation English, Cardassian, Ferengi, Bajoran, Klingon, Basic Romulan, Basic Trill

Personal History Born on Cardassia Prime to Gul Kulvher and his wife Rena, Nauket was raised as a "daddy's girl" as many of her human friends have named. The Gul was in an intriguing position, having been secretly working for the Obsidian Order, keeping a close eye on the eleven other Cardassian Orders through the Fifth. After years of viewing his strategic moves and listening to stories, it wasn't long before Nauket was engulfed in the militaristic world around her. At merely the age of twelve years (following standard Cardassian mind training exercises and other required training), the young Cardassian entered a strict Obsidian Order training academy where she learned the trade skills of becoming a valuable member of the Order's contingency.

The training was rough. It tested each member thoroughly through mind, body, and sanctity. For Nauket, these tests were only a shadow on the bigger picture going on around her. The love she had held so closely to her mother and father became another mere shadow among memories she had to forget. Even the standard mind training exercises held no flame to the Obsidian Order's training. Among the twenty seven Cardassian children to have been admitted to the Order, only eleven survived. It was but a statistic in the strive to become what has been known as the most rigorous of physical and mental tests anyone could take.

Soon after her completion, the Dominion had taken over Cardassia, where both her father and mother were killed as the Order was replaced by the Cardassian Intelligence Bureau. It was not a pretty transition. The dominion wanted no foreseeable uprise from the Order. Their intentions were to liquidate the threat, causing hundreds of death within the Obsidian Order, especially those of a lower prestige. Her parents were among the death toll, and with what time they had left, sent their children off with a surviving transport to Bajor. The pain of losing her parents had deeply affected Nauket but never shattered the core essence that made up who she was.

"Defecting" was no easy task. Resistance to accept the Cardassian refugees was strong but they were eventually welcomed as refugees. There, Nauket grew interest in Bajor and its people. Gaining few friendships during her time on Bajor, Nauket remained compassionate to its people and eventually reached coordinating efforts between Bajor and the Federation during the Dominion war through strict espionage on Cardassia Prime. It was there that the refugee Obsidian Order children, now brisking in to their adult life were approached by Admiral Jafania. The Admiral’s intentions were to cultivate intelligence through whatever means available from within the borders of the Cardassian Union. Risking life for information, Nauket traveled repeatedly in secrecy to aid in the battle efforts with whatever information she could gather, along with two other willing insurgents. This forged a great alliance between Nauket and the Federation, as well as friendships lasting well in to the current stardate.

After the Dominion war Nauket had found herself at a crossroads. To follow traditions and carry out her life as a humble Cardassian woman or to continue her ties with the Federation by entering Starfleet. It only took a matter of hours before she acquired the proper endorsement needed to enter the academy.

It was a swift graduation and even swifter advancement in rank. Starting off working as an intelligence and tactical officer aboard the USS Nedgag, she was commended for her ability to adapt to the ever changing surroundings. Though it was not duly noted on official records, Nauket became well known for her ability to find and gather information, as well as getting it from others. She then advanced to the ships Assistant Chief of Intelligence, working on several projects with Fleet Headquarters for half a year until she was admitted to Command School. It seemed like the odds were in her favor. That was until the second psyche test.

After graduating, Nauket was assigned to the USS Da Vinci, where her stay would be short lived. It seemed Starfleet had new plans for the Cardassian. Having had to breach several Fleet Security protocols, she was given the opportunity to serve on a science based vessel. The decision irritated the young woman in ways that fueled her fire the right way. Though she had the opportunity to prove her worth time and time again, it wasn't until she requested a leave of absence did the fleet take interest in her abilities again. Within thirty hours Nauket was approached by Admiral Jafania, now retired. Her career did not dissipated with retiring, however. Her offer was to implement several new technologies within Nauket, technologies endorsed and funded by the fleet and developed by none other than the once Admiral herself...

And then, the rest was behind closed doors. Her time away from active duty would not last long. The moment her whereabouts had been implemented in to Federation records, her direction once again changed.
