Resolution

Posted on Thu Mar 10th, 2011 @ 7:25pm by Lieutenant Commander Soraya Delrisa & Chief Warrant Officer Akina Jrez

Mission: Flawed. Season 2, Episode 3
Location: Infirmary, CMO's Office
Timeline: Current

The CMO's office had become the Captain's temporary base of command, and he was busy at the terminal when Soraya walked in and put a data padd on the desk.

"Well, that's it. We used samples from patients, victims, and the original containers. The only virus that didn't show up in the population is Symbalene blood burn, thank all the gods," she said, sitting on the edge of the desk. "The glycogen markers all had the same molecular code, so it should be simple to program."

Leanne was sitting in the chair with a blanket over her, a cup of tea and a neural stabilizer attached to the base of her neck. "Good work, hopefully this all goes according to plan. If we need a guinea pig, I volunteer."

"Thats your call Doc... Do we need a guinea pig?"
It had all been moving far to quickly for Romano and his non medical mind to keep up, but he could see that some hope had been raised on the station with the possibility of this hell being resolved.

=^=Jrez here. I've seen the details of the various diseases. At least we now know what we're looking for. Thank you. That should make our task a lot quicker and easier. As soon as you've got the inoculations ready, send them up here. There's a lot of people anxious to lift the containment and return to some semblance of real life. Meanwhile, we'll start cleaning up.=^=

"Captain, I'm ready to test as soon as you've got the program. I'd like to start at the crash site, then we can sweep for any surviving pathogens using the same marker," Soraya said. "If this works, maybe we can have the station clean within a few hours."

"The program is ready and loaded into the Medical database..."
All he could do now was sit back and watch, helpless and impotent and having to rely on someone else to save the station and all inhabitants. "Lets get this done Doctor!"

Leanne sneezed, almost falling out of her chair. "Yes lets, I don't know if I'm going to have any mental capacities left if we don't do something now." She smiled at the doctor and then took a sip of her tea. "I'm sure the ops crew would love to be let out of their cage, isn't that right chief?"

Zor slowly moved around the Medical bay until he came to stand behind the first officer. She had started to look grey almost, possibly with the pathogens that had been roaming the station, but he hoped that it was something else. With a quick glance he could see the back of her neck, and still nothing could be seen. This was a concern! Had the Doctor done something in her ministering of Ulonova.

Leanne stood up and walked over to the console to help initialize the cleaning protocol on crash site. She still had the blanket wrapped around her. "I've begun the initial purge of the pylon." She had the blanket still wrapped around her as the computer begun the program. "Showing a sterilization rate of 99.99% of normal."

All Romano could do was sit and watch it happen. The display across from him had a digram of the station and a green line indicating where the sterilization sweep had reached, leaving behind it a green imprint to show cleansed area's. In some ways it reminded Romano of a Barrion Sweep that all starships had to go through every four or five years, only this sweep would have no ill affects on Humanoid flesh.

"I'm going to check on our patients," Soraya said. Everyone's eyes were glued to the display, watching the staion being cleaned of the pathogens. "I'll check on the crash site as soon as we lift the quarantine."

=^=Things are looking good up here,=^= Jrez reported. =^=Readings show the level of contaminants is falling steadily.=^= The relief in his voice was palpable.

=^="I'll send help for your injured personnel, Chief,"=^= the doctor replied.

Leanne turned to Delrisa, "You've done it, everything seems to be going according to plan." Leanne smiled at her before she worked out. "Did a better job than I could have done."

Soraya turned and smiled, "We did it, Commander," she said, then looked over to the Captain. "But I think I will be requesting a few days off very soon..."

"Mason to infirmary"

Soraya turned back and tapped her combadge.

"Delrisa here, Commander"

"Please tell me that green glow was you not some other disaster I have to deal with"

"I'm sure the Captain would prefer to give you the specifics himself, Commander", Soraya said, nodding to Captain Romano with a grin.
