Mission: Into The Scorpion's Nest. Season 2, Episode 5
Location: Roark Station
Timeline: Previous

The two women moved shiftily through the station and descending the various decks speaking very little. The decisions had been done and there was no going back. Captain Romano had already approved the transfer, Ulonova backing it, all that was left was several loose ends and to ensure Shire was up to speed.

Mason teethed upon the verge of auguring the case with Commander Ulonova, instead she sought a lesser route since Leanne was, or had least had been up to now her friend.
The attempt failed, only fanning the flames though somehow she'd been able to avoid another reprimand - the last thing Captain Geuron would have wanted to see.

The two arrived in the Marine facility, well equipped for their training needs and separate crew quarters - most vacant at present. "I'm looking for Staff Sergeant Bant," Mason called cutting a line to the nearest solider.

"Ma'am, Staff Sergeant Bant is in the First Sergeant's office. I'll let him know you are here to see him." The Corporal replied as he headed to the open doored room, "Sir. Lieutenant Commander Mason is here to see you sir."

"Thank you Corporal, send them in."

"Aye, sir." Corporal Ramirez said as he stepped back out of the doorway and nodded to the ladies, "Go ahead in ma'ams."

Shire's eyebrows rose: "Ma'am?" she whispered to Mason. "I could get use to this."

The commander's steal like gaze silenced her instantly as they moved inside the stark office. "Apologizes for the intrusion Sergeant"

"No intrusions at all ma'am, what can I do for you?" Jason asked as he stood and extended his hand.

Swiftly Mason shook the outstretched hand where hers felt dwarfed in comparison. "I'm afraid its only a flying visit. I am being reassigned to the Cikat shortly, lieutenant Shire will be heading up the security department for the near future."

Shire simply nodded and smiled.

"I know in previous situations marine and Starfleet have not aways seen eye to eye, and given our location nestled in neutral space I think we should make efforts to coincide."

Jason nodded and knew what she was talking about, there had been several times in the past where Starfleet had taken Marines off of vessels due to "Problems with seniority".
"Trust me ma'am, I do what I am ordered to do and what my senior officers tell me to do. I have no problems with Security or the department, and as a matter of fact, I have worked several joint missions with security details in the past. Are you expecting any of the other Marines to cause problems? If so ma'am I can have the troublemakers put under watch to ensure that no problems are made."

"Thank you Sergent for your honestly and for your offer. I would like to extend the same should you feel any of my officers are behaving inappropriately. This leads onto my second reason for this visit: Though we cannot confirm with hard evidence both Lieutenant Shire and myself believe there is something strange at work upon the station. A possible sabotage threat but from the inside." Mason said with a serious tone. "Unfortunately the strongest suspcion I hold is against both Captain Romano and Commander Ulonova."

Jason looked deep into her eyes, reading what appeared to be her very soul, "What you talk about could be mutiny, however if you deem the Captain unfit, then it is possible to remove him from command until he is fit."

"Please don't take my thoughts it be a movement of mutiny. I have worked with both persons for some time, their behavior has become irregular and out of character. I'm concerned that this could be connected with the freighter and various other unusual report about the station."

Jason thought for a moment, "I remember when the Captain came to talk to me, his speech did seem a little off. I haven't previously met the man, however his record does precede him."

"I would like you to co-oridnate with security and ensure, no matter what - the civilan population is safe"

"Ma'am, I will prevent any civilians from becoming harmed, regardless. I'm a Marine, and once I was a civilian. I know what it's like to be scared and afraid. I know what it's like to feel helpless. Trust me. They will be perfectly safe."

The corners of her lips turned: "I appreacte that, thank you."

Jason stood again, grinned, and extended his hand, "If there is nothing else, I do have other things to attend to today ma'am."

The two woman rose in unison, "No that will be all from me at least," Mason half turned to Shire whom in turn nodded.

"Thank you for your time Sergant, I hope we can work together in the near future against all threats." The small woman shook Bant's large hand.

"I hope so too." Jason said as the two ladies left.
