Mission: Purgatory's Shadow. Season 2 Episode 7

Harrison saw a Starfleet officer ahead of him on the Promenade. He strode over. “Where can I find the office of the Chief of Security?” he asked without preamble. “Come on,” he said when he didn't get an immediate response. “It's not a difficult question...” he looked at the insignia on the officer's collar “...Lieutenant.”

Karin turned around and smiled politely, "Sir, the Chief of Security is on Vacation... is there anything I can help you with?" She held the pad she had been working on behind her back. It was a given that Karin wasn't part of the security office, nor was it her job to know were everyone on board happened to be at any given moment. The Intelligence department however worked closely with most departments to ensure everyone had the information they require in order to do their jobs effectively, thus there was a certain amount of bleeding between her department and most others.

"Answer the question, Lieutenant...or," Harrison added, noting the colour of her collar, "...don't they breed Intelligence Officers very intelligent around here? Where can I find the Chief of Security? Or did he take his office on vacation with him? I do presume," he said sarcastically, "that you have an Acting Chief in his absence."

Bishop's right eye twitched as it normally did when an officer was being awkward around her. It wasn't really her job to know where each staff member happened to be at any given time. Granted, she worked closely with the Security department but that was when there was a list of suspects and even then she'd only deal with a few officers at a time.

"You asked, for the Chief of Security, if you wanted the department, you should have said so." Pulling her padd in front of her she sent whatever it was that she had been working on to be filed onto the main computer, then she pulled up the map of the station, "Your department is here..." She pointed, "You boss is likely to be...here." Again she pointed to a room within the security department on the relevant deck, "Whoever that might be." Her tone was irritated she had been distracted working on her own projects for the last thirty six hours already. Just what was it with the security detachment these days. Still, she smiled pleasantly and toned down her behaviour knowing full well that this officer was of a higher rank than herself.

“Do not deign to tell me what I did or did not say, Lieutenant. If you took more time to observe those with whom you are dealing, rather than making false assumptions about what they are saying, you would have seen that I am not attached to the Intelligence service. Had I have wished to find my department, I would have asked for Tactical. I gather from your reply that you do not even know who the Chief of Security is. It seems the rumours of slackness aboard this station were not far from the mark. That will be all, Lieutenant.”

With that, Harrison brushed past Bishop and headed in the direction she had indicated.

Without a sound, Bishop stuck her tongue out as far as she could, turned on her heels and stormed off in the opposite direction. If there was one thing she didn't like it was security officers with a stuck up attitude. Security and Tactical were one department after all.
