Cascade of Emotion

Mission: Echoes of the Damned: Pilot Episode.

Having left Lake behind on the bridge Kristina stepped quietly around the office allowing the gentle music to soften her stony complexion.
She crossed swiftly to Beverly still kneeling with tears rolling down her cheeks. Wordlessly understanding her agony Kristina gently put her arms around her and pulled her close.

"It's alright Bev," she whispered rubbing the woman's back. "Let it out,"

The emotions kept coming, and nothing seemed to be able to stop them. Her whole body was shaking with repressed emotion and the sudden shock of the release. She was also somewhat embarrassed about Kristina finding her. Granted Kristina was her closest friend, but she was still her commanding officer. She felt hypocritical after what she had said to Mister Lake.

"I shall miss them greatly too. Not just Jennings but all of them," she was referring to the other crewmen that had either lost their lives on that same fateful day, or those that no longer wished to part of Genesis as a result. "They've left a gaping hole in my heart too." She spoke softly gently holding Beverly as she continued to cry. Kristina's own restraint was wavering making her eye burn with the tears she was trying to hold back.

There was nothing she could do too stop herself, she just had to allow the sobbing and the tears to run its course, and eventually she would feel better. She turned and clung to Kristina, like a frightned child. If it had been anyone but her then she would have thrown them out and berried her emotions again.
But for now, she could be that child, afraid and alone.
