Location: south Africa

The years passed. Everyday it was an hell. Henk was now an boy of 16 years of age. Looking at his body you could tell that he did hard labour, his skin was tanned though the sun. Henk looked through the fence to some lions how they where lying under an tree. Suddenly his radio made a noise.
“Henk are you there?” His father said.
“At the lion cage.” Henk said. “checking the fences after the last night storm.”
“Found anything.”
“So far no. I have once cage left. Be home in about 2 hours.”

Henk stood up and walked back to the car. He got inside and drove to another cage. This was the biggest they had. Here they prepared the lions for the wild. Outside the fence Henk grabbed his rifle and opened the first fence He drove the car inside an closed it. He looked around an opened the gate. He was on his toes. He slowly looked around and drove the car out of the 2 faces. He turned and drove beside the fence. It took him about an hour and a half to check all fences. He only fount one hole.
On his way home he parked inside the two fences. He looked around and got out of the car. He set on footstep and changed his mind. He grabbed his shotgun and walked over to the fence. He closed the one facing the lion side, and opened the one facing the normal road. He turned his back to walk back to his car when a lion charged at him. Before he could raise his rifle the lion was on him. The lion was so close that Henk could smell his breath. Suddenly an sharp pain ran through his neck. With some luck Henk managed to escape and got back into the car.
“Dad, I’m at the wild enclosure.” henk said fighting the pain.” An lion attacked me. He escaped. I need help.”
“Hang in there. I’m on my way.” His dad said in an hurry.

Henk saw the lion walking in front of the car. The looked each other in the eyes and somehow understood each other. Henk brought his fingers to his neck and thought it. Hen he saw the blood he pushed his hand on the wound to stop the bleeding. After a few minutes Henk passed out. What seemed like a second for him was 24 hours in the real world. As Henk opened his eyes he looked around. What he saw was something that would stay with him for the rest of his life, and sever the bond between him and his father even further. His father shot the lion that attacked him. Like people just to do in the 20 and 21st century.
