Mission: Trouble on the frontier
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Backpost - Prior to Away Team Departure

Temple was looking down at the map on his PADD as he walked, almost bumping into another officer. He apologised profusely and looked around, realizing he had managed to find his way to Sickbay. Getting his regulation checkup was just another part of starting a new posting, and as his father was a Doctor, he would never put it off.

Entering the room, Temple approached the CMO with a broad smile.

"Doctor Delrise?" He asked, "I'm Magnus Temple, here for my medical."

Soraya looked up as he approached and for a split second she saw a face she hadn't seen in years... No, it can't be...She blinked to dispel the thought.

"Delrisa," she corrected, returning his smile. "You're right on time Mr. Temple, we'll be going in Exam Two." She motioned and they walked into the room behind her.

"So are you in any pain today?" she began, sitting at the terminal and avoiding his gaze.

Temple sat on the edge of the biobed and swung his legs a little, as he always used to do in his father's office. Though now his long adult legs caused his feet to scuff on the ground. He also wondered if the Doctor had been overly busy, as she seemed somewhat distracted.

"Healthy as a horse," He replied happily, his Danish accent elongating the H's. "Sorry if I have over burdened you by coming in today,"

"We're getting ready for the Gaspar mission, the first-responder units have been running some drills while the transports are being loaded," she answered with a smile. She stood up from the terminal and turned towards him, and her eyes found his again. She quickly turned away again and took a tricorder from her pocket.

"Computer, scan musculoskeletal, endocrine, and cardiovascular systems please."

"Scanning now, Doctor."

"If you'll just look straight ahead," Soraya said, moving to Temple's side. She moved her tricorder up from his throat to the top of his head.

"Sounds like a tough mission," Magnus said softly, keeping his head still and staring at the bulkhead in front of him. "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know."

"We have been fortunate, there have been many volunteers and donations for the relief effort," she said. Her eyes watched the image of his brain on the screen.

"Scans are complete. Overlaying results," the computer intoned. Brilliantly colored images of Magnus' bones and blood vessels flickered hypnotically on the large wall.

Soraya put the tricorder back in her pocket; although he sat she still had to tilt her head back to look up at the diplomat.

"You are Betazoid?" she asked softly.

Magnus was staring at the display of his insides, curious to see the inner workings of his body. He raised an eyebrow and looked quizzically the doctor.

"Look, you can see the ankle sprain I did a few months ago." He said with a laugh. "Oh yes, well partly Betazoid as I say. It's from my paternal side."

He laughed again, "I don't talk about it much, it's kind of cheating in my profession."

"You... remind me of someone... someone I haven't seen in years," she said. She shook her head and turned back to the screen. "You are in excellent health, Mister Temple, not so much as a scratch. I don't even see evidence of any past injuries," she added.

Temple frowned a little at the comment, "Unless I have handsome twin somewhere, I don't know where that's from. Unless you've spent some time in the Diplo Corp circles? I've been all over the place for last few years."

She felt her professional composure returning to her like breath filling her lungs. Yes, this man's appearance had startled her but she was a doctor after all, and he wasn't Noran. "I haven't seen him in nearly six years. He was very handsome and charming, and gave me a gift I've never thanked him for," she said with a smile. "Welcome to Deep Space 12, you are fit for duty."

"Thank you for the bill of health, it's one more thing off my list of things to do to get settled in." Magnus stood up again, giving a sigh. "I move around so much you'd think I'd be used to it by now. Alas."

He self-consciously dragged his hand through his hair, giving a nonchalant laugh with a half curled lip. He shrugged a little and reached out his hand to the Doctor.

"Thanks again, Doctor Delrisa," he replied.

She smiled and shook his hand. Does he know Noran? Am I ready for him to know? No, not yet..."My pleasure, Mister Temple. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you."

Temple gave a respectful nod and exited the sickbay.
