Picking Ticket

Posted on Sun Oct 15th, 2017 @ 3:37pm by Ambassador Telhas thu'S'Terion Duke of Cheleb-Khor & Civilian Haqtaj Matlh

Mission: Trouble on the frontier
Location: Romulan Embassy

Whatever you wanted to say about the Klingons, they were not tardy. Telhas had barely had time to get back to his desk before a call came in from the IKC FHew.

The man on the other end was an ancient Klingon. It was rare to see an old Klingon, and it could only mean one of two things; this man was a coward or a VERY dangerous individual.

"Ro' HoD, of House Matlh," the old captain barked, in the Klingon curt manner. "Nuq NeQ?"

Unfortunately, Telhas spoke no Klingon, but he could guess what it meant.

"Sir, I am Telhas thu'S'Terion, Lord of Clan S'Terion, Clan Tellus and House Tellus," he introduced himself, "Is this a secure channel?"

Ro' frowned a moment and then leaned off screen. He returned a moment later. "It is now. Ambassador Haqtaj tells me you are in need."

"Now for what I want," Telhas said, "I need to ship a box, a little more than a man's size, and a passenger, out of Romulan territory. And to make things a little more complicated, my cargo has to stay secret. Which includes the passenger."

Ro' narrowed his eyes, "Secret from who? My crew? Myself? The Romulans?"

"The Romulans, actually," Telhas replied, "And especially the Tal Shiar."

"I need to know the contents of this box. If you are planning on shipping Bio-genetic weapon components I want to know before I put them in my hold. As for the passenger, it will not be the first Fugitive we have smuggled across borders."

"There is no cargo inside the box, although scans will show it is filled with bars of gold-pressed latinum," Telhas explained, "It is a failsafe. If by any reason you are controlled by a Romulan ship, the passenger can hide inside the box. As it will be clearly marked as my personal property, not even the Tal Shiar will dare to open it. They have to rely on their scans. If they have any questions why I am shipping latinum into Federation territory, feel free to tell them to contact me. Do you have more questions?"

"There is a complication," Ro' growled. "My ship was damaged in the last encounter with a Romulan. I am trying to get parts for my cloak and other systems, but someone in the KDF is causing difficulties, and I can't exactly order them from the Federation. However, I have reason to believe, from my own sources, that a Romulan contingent will be arriving at DS14 where I am currently laid up. If they can be convinced to provide the parts I need, I can go and get your consignment."

Telhas leant back in his chair and thought for a moment. "I will need a list of the parts. It should not be a problem for me to provide them." As he owned shipyards where warbirds were built, he should have access. As he talked he looked up the Senate's file on the contingent en route to DS14. "General M'Ret... this is a complication as well. I cannot ask him directly. Hmm..." He had to think for a moment how he could deliver the parts. "I think I can call in a favour of his flagship's Tal Diann Master. He will contact you after arrival." After all, he could still count on his network from the old days in intelligence. "He will also have detailed instructions then. Telhas out."
