Location: Starbase 611

"Put it over there." Mike sated to one of his staff, holding a heavy looking crate or equipment. The young man put it down, in the wrong place. "No! Over THERE!" Mike pointed it out, and the young ensign soon followed. "Was that so hard?"

"No sir, sorry sir." He replied.

Mike closed his eyes and gave a sigh, he felt bad for being hard on him. "Don't say sorry, Ensign. Who are you anyway?"

"Bronson, Jack Bronson. I'm engaged to your sister, sir." He reported.

"Jack! Oh, I've heard... so... so... much about you, but didn't know what you looked like." Mike smiled.

"Trust Sheridan to do that, huh?" He gave his boss a quick friendly nudge on the arm.

"Yeah. How is she anyway?" Mike asked.

"Doing well. She is still on the Lennox." Bronson replied with a confindent smile.

Mike gave Jack a nod, then looking in another direction as all the concentration in the room was shifted to the doorway, as a beautiful woman walked through the door.

Mike kept and eye on her over the minutes he and Ensign Bronson were talking; she looked around for a moment, and then nealt back down next to one of the Engineering staff, the man she asked immediately pointed his finger in Mike's direction.

The woman walked towards him, elegantly putting one foot infront of another.

She gave him a friendly smile. "You are Lieutenant Mike Lake?"

If it would be slightly acceptable, Mike would've probably been drooling. "That'd be me. And you are?"

"Lieutenant Jas Bu-- Ah... Jasmine Butler." She extended her arm with a smile.

He looked at Bronson. "Whats up with these people and studdering?"

Jasmine gave a small cough to get Mike's attention, still holding her hand out.

"Oh." Mike shook her hand. "I can still call you Jas, right."

Jasmine nodded. "If you really want to." She noticed that Bronson was looking at her with not much approval, reading the padd that she was holding in her petite hands. "Oh, here is a list of things we'll need from the Genesis to start some of the repairs." She gave it to Mike. "I hope it won't be too much of a stretch?"

Mike looked it over. "You're not exactly asking to rough it, are you."

"We need what we need, Sir." Jasmine replied.

"Well, I'll see what we can do. Thanks for your lips--list! list! We'll acommodate you to the breast of our abilities."

"Mike Lake, you're flustered." Jasmine chuckled.

Mike shook his head, but Jack beat him to an answer. "I think he is, just a little."

Mike slapped Jack on the arm. "Shut up. Shut up. Shut up."

"Don't worry, Sir, I'm used to it." Jasmine took the padd back.

"Thats disgusting. I'm sorry, but thats not right." Mike replied.

Jasmine smiled. "Anyway, I might organise a drinks night, considering that its been a tough few days, I think it'd be good."

Mike gave her a nod "Yeah, that'd be awesome," he rolled his eyes "...mingle with your Starbase buddies."

"I will invite Doctor Ulonova, so you don't feel left out. She will probably say yes. You couldn't write about it, she and I actually went to the academy together."

"You don't say." Jack muttered.

Mike frowned at the young man beside him. "Thats great. Space is a small place, isn't it; a guy on the Genesis grew up on the same street that I did."

Before she ended up spending all day in converstation with Mike, she took a step back "Well, I should clear this with a member of your command staff."

"Yeah. Talk to Vos or Mason, I heard on the grapevine that the Captain doesn't look great, best not bother her." Mike told her.

"Will do. Thankyou, Sir." She smiled again and turned her back and left the room as elegantly as she did before.

"Pretty hot, huh?" Jack pointed out.

"Get tae-- Just... augh... go fix some wires or something. Be useful." Mike ordered.
