Godsend... Perhaps

Mission: Ties To Blood: Season 1, Episode 3.
Location: Ops
Timeline: 14:15 hrs

The doors to Ops opened with a quiet hiss, and Mike cautiously stepped out of the turbolift. He had a look around, his eyes panned the left side of the room to the left, and then was drawn to this huge person to his right. "What the... bloody hell." He thought to himself.

Mike slowly walked across the bridge to this 'person of interest'. Once he started to get close, he looked at the non-coms that sparsely populated the room, and was confused when he realised who this person was- a Klingon.
"Excuse me, do you have clearance to be here?" He asked; for the second time that day, fearing for his life.

Haqtaj looked down at the new arrival. Two pips. Easily intimidated. She folded her arms.

"I am sorry to inform you that the command staff are... Unavailable. I have taken charge of this station temprorarily. Do you wish to relieve me of the position?"

Mike couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "You know, that might be for the best." Mike was slightly annoyed with this woman, she appeared to have barged onto the bridge and taken over, he wondered if anyone knew who she was. "So, uh, who are you?"

"I am Ambassador Haqtaj Matlh, Klingon cultural liaison. I surrender command of this station to you, Lt...?" She gave a mock bow, leaving him time to supply his name.

"Lake, Michael Lake." He quickly replied.

"The last thing I want to do is be stuck behind a desk managing ghuv Hom. It is all your Lieutenant. Might I suggest you get someone with a little authority to sit in the Captain's chair and at least give the appearance of managing this place."

Haqtaj couldn't believe the state of the place. She had known the Federation loved to tinker but to let the station go unmanaged so badly... Something serious was happening here.

"Perhaps it would be wise of me to find the Captain myself," She mused aloud to Lake, "After all, I am sure she will be pleased to know I am on board."

"No doubt, Ambassador." He smiled a little. "She likes to keep on top of things." Mike said with a proud tone.

She stoped a moment at the turbo lift doors and calls back to Lake, "Oh and if for some reason you need to leave this stationed unmanned and unoccupied again, do let me know."

Just to keep her from re-entering the bridge and attacking him he nodded. "Certainly." As the doors closed he caught the eye of the passing Chief O'Donnel.

"Charming, eh." He said.

Mike grinned. "Don't worry, Gary, she'll soften up..." He sighed, "maybe..."

Gary stopped and turned to look at Mike. "Between you and me, I wouldn't challenge her again, she might rip you apart."

Mike smiled and stepped forward. "Challenge me, and I'll tare you apart." He joked, deadpanning the entire thing.

Gary nodded. "Well, I need to get these to Lt Butler."

Mike got butterflies as soon as her name was mentioned. "Ok. I'll catch you later."
