Mission: Echoes of the Damned: Pilot Episode.

Leanne looked over the panel and set the ships scanners to the biofield that encircled the planet. She wanted to know more about what was going on.

"Computer, please activate scan Leanne Beta 9 Alpha"

The console started to display the scanning pattern. "Commencing scan, estimated time till completion in 53 minutes, 47 seconds."

The Doctor leaned back in her chair and looked over the bridge. She wanted to officially meet the other officers that she was going to serve with and wanted to start with Commander DeVour. Leanne stood up, straightened her uniform and walked around to the commander's chair.

"Commander, it seems like we have a little bit of downtime, well as much downtime as can be had with a team on the ground. If it is o.k. with you, I'd like to take some time and talk to you, I arrived so late I haven't had time to actually meet anyone yet. I figured it would be best to start with you."

"Very well Doctor", she got to her feet and started for her ready room. "Krissy, you have the bridge".
If truth be told, Beverly needed a drink and something to eat. It had been a while since her last stop, and she imagined most of her crew would need the same.
She entered her ready room, Leanne right behind her, and went straight over to the replicator. "Would you like anything?".

"I'll take some coffee, black please" Leanne looked around the ready room trying to get a read on the Commanders personality from the decorations in the ready room. "It is a horrible addiction that one of my superior officers got me hooked on back on Mars. It was one of the first things that I would do on my duty shift was to make sure she had her coffee." She chuckled a little remembering back but stifled it.

Beverly smiled warmly, "We all have our vices", she said as she walked across the ready room, two steaming mugs of liquid in hand. One a black coffee for the Doctor, and the other a rich chocolate drink. "Including me", as she raised her drink to her lips.
Once she had enjoyed the first taste of the liquid, she cast her eyes over to her newest crew member.
"So, you wanted to talk to me?".

Leanne took a sip from the mug. It was a little bitter then what she was used to. "Well Commander, I wanted to come officially introduce myself to you and see if you had any questions about my record or me personally, and I also wanted to talk about my role here as CMO. I'm sure you have seen my record, this is my first ship posting, so to be honest I'm a little nervous about all of this."

Beverly took a seat on the sofa across the room from the replicator, a playful smile crossing her features. "I'll let you in on something Doctor", her thoughts kept going back to an old Vulcan proverb. "Infinate diversity in infinate combinations. We are all thrown a curve ball from time to time. This is yours as Genesis is mine", an almost maternal air fell over her. "I haven't been groomed for command, it was thrust at me out of necessity. The same could be said about your own situation. You'll adapt like I am".

Leanne loosened up a bit, talking to Commander DeVour was easier than she thought it would be. "Well thank you Commander, hopefully my services as CMO won't be needed too often, I mean we won't have many injured. I have a lot of clinical lab work, and some front line experience when I was at Jupiter station, but I've never seen any combat. I don't have doubt that I can treat them but.." She started to fidget a little bit. "I just don't want to let the ship down." Leanne sat down and took a sip of her coffee. "I'm definitely happy that you decided to take me on the ship, this is my chance to stretch my legs and explore the galaxy."

Taking another sip of her Hot Chocolate and savouring the aroma before she returned to the conversation. "All I expect from my officers, is they do their best, nothing more, nothing less. We all achieve what we can, and I believe that you are thr right person for this job".

Leanne finished off her coffee and looked at Beverly."Well, I feel a lot better now after talking to you. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I came aboard." She straightened her uniform a bit, she was still a little uncomfortable but did feel better. "Is there anything that you want to know about me?"

Beverly shook her head, "But I do expect you to come to breakfast with me in the morning".
Beverly emptied the contents of her cup, "We should get back to the bridge. There's something about this whole situation that's unsetteling me".

"Breakfast sounds good. I've been eating shuttle craft rations for the last 4 days." She stood up and started to head towards the door. "Lets get this figured out. Hopefully my scan will come up with something."
