The Big Report

Mission: Ties To Blood: Season 1, Episode 3.
Location: Doctor Ulanova's Office - Sickbay

As the calamity in sickbay grew, Zeek tried to focus on his report to starfleet. His call was pending to a Vice Admiral Frank Tyler, who was the current liaison to the CinC of Starfleet. As he sat back in the chair, the UFP logo was replaced by an older looking man in Admirals clothing.

"This is Vice Admiral Tyler, what can I do for you?" He said with a smile

"Admiral, I'm Lieutenant Commander Zeek Aerelon, acting Executive Officer of Starbase 611. We have a bit of a situation Starfleet needs to be aware of. Captain Beverly DeVuor has somehow encountered an unknown virus that is changing her DNA. Our medical staff is working on it now, but we fear that it might spread through contact. Anyone that has had contact with her has been quarantined, so for now the situation is under control."

The Admiral nodded "Do you have any idea where this came from?"

"No Sir" Zeek responded "It took a full security detail and a Klingon just to hold her down. Whatever this is, it turns any humanoid into a purely instinctual animal. Those who came in contact with her said she kept going on about her children, whatever that means."

Frank nodded and was silent for a few seconds before responding "Commander, once the situation is fully under control and the Captain is back on her feet, I want your chief medical officer to head to the Starfleet Medical Research facility in orbit of Jupiter here in the Sol system. They can help work on mass producing a vaccine so that whoever comes in contact with this virus again will not fall victim to the same symptoms as your Captain. I'll let them know your CMO is on the way, but it will be better to present all the facts in person. Good luck Commander, Tyler out."

Zeek hated when high ranking officials ended conversations like that, but nevertheless, the Admiral's orders stood. He wasn't sure how the Captain would react to the Admiral's orders, but it was his job to report them nonetheless.
