Heading out

Posted on Tue Dec 1st, 2009 @ 11:09pm by Civilian Haqtaj Matlh & Lieutenant JG T'Arjia D'Ras & Chief Warrant Officer Akina Jrez & Ensign Rann Tallion

Mission: The Futures Past. Season 1, Episode 4.
Location: DS 18

ON:
Serge turned to the other two command officers, “Captain D’Ras, Jrez and I think we have found an explanation for the crews transportation through time. It involves a high energy release in that nebula about twenty years ago and, if I am right, we may even be able to use it to send them home. I will need to get there to check some readings before we can be sure.”

"Then you should use the Hermes. It's the fastest ship assigned to us" replied T'Arjia

“If you want to come, I think Igor is ready to take a turn at command for a few days. I know he is my son, but he has been superb as 3IC and is much more balanced and capable than I ever was at his age.”

T'Arjia leaned back in her seat. "Protocol dictates that, as the commander of this station, I should remain onbeard to oversee operations. However, that said I believe I would be of more benefit on Starbase 611. In addition, I think it may be prudent to bring Lt Tallion with us, just in case"

“Aye, sir. I will get the USS Hermes powered up and ready to go. Last one there has to sit in back!”

With that Serge scampers off, looking less like the fourty year old he is and more like the teen he was when they first met him.

=/= Lieutenant Tallion, report to Hanger Bay 3 for extended duty. =/=

Rann got up from his desk and headed towards Hanger Bay 3 =/= On my way. =/=

Jrez caught Moshchnost as he ran down the corridor.
“Serge,” he said breathlessly. He was fit and still ran regularly but Moshchnost was putting on a turn of speed Jrez would not have believed was in him. “You mentioned that a large energy source triggered sending the Kodiak into the future. That suggests we’d need similar to send it back. But we can’t just rely on chance; we need to replicate what happened twenty years ago."

Serge slapped hiim on the shoulder, "Precisely. I knew you'd work it out."

"The chief problem is Starfleet. They’re not about to provide the necessary fire-power because they’re more concerned about changing the timeline than getting the four people back where they belong. I think I have a solution; if we can’t get Starfleet to do it, we get someone else. Remember that Klingon ambassador that was posted to Starbase 611 back then. I think her name was Maqtlh – something like that. Our base counsellor, Vartog, was assigned as her aide. He’s kept in contact with her over the years. Apparently she’s restored her House’s fortunes after backing the wrong side in the Civil War. I don’t know the details but I believe she once again commands ships of her own. I’m prepared to ask Vartog to contact her to provide a ship to detonate the necessary explosion in the nebula. A cloaked Klingon vessel could slip in and out undetected, especially if it was DS 18 which would normally be doing the detecting. I’m sure we could come up with a convincing explanation for the explosion – convincing enough for Starfleet anyway.”

Serge beamed, "I love it. Ambassador Matlh it was. Yes. I think she was also close to Counsellor Diego on SB 611. And don't worry about the Temporal Mechanics department. If there is one thing you should know about me, I can tangle a discussion on temporal mechanics in such a way it makes String theory look easy."
