Mission: Plotting New Courses. Season 1, Episode 7

The station was in a worst condition then she had imagined it. Yes she had heard the tales and seen the reports but still the sight its self was for worse. A shell, empty and broken - and they had been sent here to fix it? She was surgeon for goodness sake not a construction worker!

Bella sighed with defeat staring with brimming tears at the rooms that were suppose to be Sickbay. Turning her back she collided into someone whom somewhere in her woe she had failed to detect.

"Oh. I'm sorry I didn't see you there." She automatically said.

"I'm sorry to have startled you," David replied with a faint apologetic smile. "I was just coming to see what state sickbay was in and if there was anything my men could do to help. Not exactly engineers, but we can move heavy things. I can see it will need it," he added looking at the devastation in the sickbay.

"It must be difficult for you to see you new place of work like this," he continued, instantly thinking it a completely useless thing to say.

The grin was fixed up Bella's face. "Yes, its not very easy. Its hard to see where to start to create some order. I appreciate your help for Sickbay is critical to have operational as soon as possible/ A relic like this station is bound to fight back."

David nodded slightly. "A number of the Marines have already had a few fights with the Cardassian tech as they've tried to remove it. Nothing serious so far, but I fear the station has hardly begun. Where would you like us to start?" he asked looking about the devastated area.

"I think for now we should create a clean sterile section so if needed we can start created patients. Then work outward so we can handle more serious injury's should we receive any, lets hope not." Bella smirked indicating with her arm roughly what she wanted.

Taking a PADD from his pocket, David started taking notes. "Well, for the moment most of my men are only good for lift and move. I tend to think of them as 'men with hammers' when it comes to fixing things. I have got one decent engineering minded man that might be able to do some work on getting systems running better until the real engineers get here."

He looked about wondering if there was anything Fletcher could do with the systems. The man could easily build a bomb from nothing, but rigging Cardassian tech was a bit different. It already was a bomb. Looking to the heavier items, David decided it would be best to get Tank in to drag them out.

"Will there be anything else, Ma'am, before I go get the cavalry?"

Bella smirked, she liked the way this man thought even if he had made her jump like a skittish rabbit at their first encounter. "No, I think that will be all. Take one step at a time"

David nodded curtly and headed for the door.
