Mission: Plotting New Courses. Season 1, Episode 7
Location: Hope Cove, England
Timeline: Early morning

Sileth Rekcut was on shore leave from the USS Tomcat and two days later makes her way to a small Devon fishing village. It was a pre arranged meeting place that she had promised with Rory Max (Max's last long term host). That if they ever got separated then they would meet up there on the beach. Sileth had heard on the Tomcat that Max had joined with another Trill and she knew that he would try to find her.

The dark blue shuttle bus that left from the town of Kingsbridge traveled all around the coastal villages before it finally stopped on the road above the beach at Hope Cove. The ride had been nearly an hour but Sileth enjoyed it and it gave her time and space to think about what she would say to Max .

She stood at the top of the old car park that was now grassed over and made into a seating area and waved good bye to Adrian the driver. It had been good to see him again after so long he was saddened to hear that Rory had died but it was nice to know that Max had survived.

"Tell Max I said hello" he called as Sileth got off the bus. "Bye Sileth" and the shuttle carried on over the coastal road to Inner Hope.

She stood and looked out across the view it was so beautiful here. It was 9 am on a warm sunny day and she got out her camera and took some pictures. Sileth let the fresh sea breeze lift her hair and felt the tingling taste of salt on her lips. Her favourite colours were out there on the sea today, turquoise, blues and greens. It felt good to be back and she walked down the steps down to the Cottage Hotel. The taste of the sea mingled with smell of breakfast that wafted up to her from the dining room, she was suddenly very hungry.

The gardens were full of beautiful flowers there were seats dotted here and there to enjoy the surroundings. Seagulls flew over head and she found herself looking for the Fulmars who nested on one of the largest rocks over looking the Cove. They named them Sileth and Rory after themselves and a closer look told her that they were still there. A few more steps down and she was standing outside the entrance to the Cottage Hotel.

It had not changed one bit as she opened the heavy oak door. The lounge was still the same as it always had been with deep comfortable chairs and sofa's. She would curl up with Rory Max on a cold winters day and gaze into a roasting log fire. They would always go for a walk along the Vale that over looked the Cove. They would walk for hours and then stop at the Port Light for lunch and a drink before making their way back down to Hope.

As she walked through to reception she felt that the ghost of him was still here waiting for her, standing by the warm fire, were WW2 airmen had carved their initials on the wooden lintel above the fireplace. Rory's ghost was looking at her as she made her way through to the reception desk. When she blinked he had gone, the log fire had disappeared and a cry caught in her tight throat that she hadn't felt for a long time. He was gone...

She walked up the desk Sarah Pendragon was there and was happy to see her.

"Miss Rekcut welcome back its good to see you how are you?" he asked warmly

"I'm well thank you" she replied

"Are you staying with us? Your old room isn't available I'm afraid but we have a ground floor one"

Sileth hadn't planned on staying more than a few hours and would have taken the last shuttle back.

"Maybe just for two nights" Sileth asked her. "If its available"

Sarah booked her in and handed over Sileths room key when she had finished. "Anything else I can get you? " she asked

Ten minutes later Sileth was sitting on the verander enjoying the fresh air in her usual seat where she could see right across the three beaches. Having breakfast and good coffee, whilst watching the Fulmars with their jet black wings fly in and around Hope Cove.

MAX

Max was looking out of the window at another bright sunny morning. He was in the room that he had shared with Sileth when he was joined to Rory. Max started to get dressed and go down to breakfast, this was his second day here she was bound to come today he thought. The bus was due at 9 am, should he go to meet it? no thats not where they said they would meet, the beach, the rock, that's where.

"You cant do this" ssid Kriss interrupting Max's thoughts

"I can do anything I like"

"You have to leave her alone, she has her own life now"

"No! she loves me and I love her." The symbiote cried

"I understand"

"You don't understand anything"

"I know about being in love"

"You have no idea about love you would never understand what Sileth and I have together, AAGGHHH GET OUT OF MY HEAD" Max yelled

"Shh" Kriss said gently

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

The symbiote soothed by the poem calmed down and Kriss Max went to breakfast.

When he had finished he took his still hot coffee out of the French windows and sat at the wooden table where he had sat once before with Sileth. Some one had been there before him and the breakfast things were still there, but it didn't matter. After this he would walk to the next beach along the narrow path that led past the little tiny church at Hope Cove, that led down to the crystal clear water. The colours of the sea reminded him of her. Then as the tide was out this morning he would walk along the beach and back to where all the boats where, and their rock that sat flat against the quay wall.

As he got up to leave a waiter came to clear away the crockery, had Max stayed a moment longer he would have noticed a lipstick mark on the lip of the cup that was left before his. It was a subtle shade of pink that he would have known instantly as belonging to Sileth...............
