Mission Briefing.

Posted on Mon Jun 14th, 2010 @ 2:56pm by Lieutenant Commander Jack Daniels & Lieutenant Helen Lyons [PNPC] & Lieutenant Kriss Maxx

Mission: Wolf In The Fold. Season 2, Episode 1
Location: St George Living Compartment.

Once the St George was at it's highest maintainable warp speed, that wouldn't burn out the warp coils, and on a direct course for Nebula R-160 Jack decided now was the time to lay all the cards on the table.

Turning his chair around enough to see everyone in the small cockpit "How about we grab something to eat in the Living Compartment and I'll fill you guys in on what's happening."

"Great idea" replied Max as he put in a small instrument in his ear so he could stay tuned to 'traffic reports' as he called it. "Folks, we have reached our cruising altitude now, so I am going to switch the seat belt sign off. Feel free to move about as you wish, but please stay inside the shuttle till we's a bit cold outside, and if you walk on the top it affects the flight pattern."

Cailyn stood up and walked to the back. She shook her head at the way Kriss thought of this mission. She rubbed her forehead.
"ceasar salad, coffee black." cailyn said.
She heard the replicator make a familiar hum and after a few seconds her order was ready. She sat at a table and slowly began to eat. Her mind wondered far away in the past.

Helen watched as Cailyn and Kriss moved out to the back and then shook her head. This is going to be a very long trip...

This is going to be a long trip was all Jack could think to himself as Maxx moved off to wards the back, hanging back with Helen until Kriss and Cailyn had moved further into the rear compartment he gentle took hold of her arm to keep her from following to give them a modicum of privacy "Are you OK?"

Helen deliberately tried to avoid Jack's eye. "Yes...Of course I am," she then fished for a something else to say other than the truth. "Well I was until I discovered Kriss was coming with us. He's going to drive me slowly insane."

Guilt started to eat at his insides at springing this on her "Sorry but most of this I just had to throw together at the last minute."

Hearing the tone of his voice, Helen looked up at him. "Why should you be sorry? You warned me what to expect when you first asked me on this mission. And I still chose to come." She reached up and tentatively brushed her fingers across his cheek. "Stop worrying about me."

He watched her move away to wards the back of the shuttle, with the feeling of her fingers still lingering on his cheek Jack was amazed at her inner strength.

As both of them entered the small compartment at the rear Jack let Helen head off to wards the replicator while he made a bee line to wards Cailyn, placing a hand on her shoulder "I wanted to say thank you for agreeing to come along, I saw in you history that their was a similar incident."

Cailyn looked at Jack and sat down.
"When my first host was a Starfleet captain I was sent on a rescue mission." Cailyn said as she looked ahead. "There was good Intel, and we where all in a good mood. When we got there we where ambushed. I lost a lot of good man including the prisoners. I never forgive myself for that."

Her story was a sobering one to him, if a mission with good Intel and planning could go so wrong how bad could this one go? Shaking off those thoughts "Thank you again for coming" he squeezed her shoulder before taking a close by seat.

Maxx ordered himself a baked potato with chili and salad and sat down next to Helen.
"So Helen how are you doing?" he asked

Helen tried not to groan. Ever since her talk with Seraphina, Helen had been a bit wary of Kriss and was not looking forward to being stuck with him in the close confines of the runabout. "I'm fine," Helen replied without looking at him. She left her response short and sharp hoping that Kriss would take the hint and leave her be.

Luckily for Helen, Jack chose this moment to speak.

With everyone now settled at the table Jack decided to get started "OK I'll take you through how I got the information and the plan of attack, if you have any questions just speak up is that good with everyone?"

"Right before we had to pull out of 611 security stopped a Yridian trader, it was nothing major but he seemed rattled enough to make a deal. He supplied me with information on a Gorn transport moving Federation POW's from Cestus to numerous other Gorn colonies as slave labor, the trader was sneaky enough to get a good look at the helms course."

"In little under 11 hours we should reach Nebula R-160, once there we'll shut down all but minimum power combined with the radiation from the nebular we should we effectively concealed from all scans. Once the transport is in the shadow of the nebular we power up and disable key their systems, I think the priority should be engines, shields and communications."

"Once their dead in the water Lieutenant Tarke and myself beam over to secure the ship before the rest of you come over" looking around at the gathered group "See couldn't be easier."

Cailyn looked at Jack.
"It might not be as easy as it sounds. The gorn shields are strong. If we can manage to take out there comm systems first we might stand a change. I need to see a lay-out of the transport to see if we can beam into a room with not much guards."
She took a bite from there food and grabbed something from behind her back.
"Can you handle 20th century weapons?" cailyn asked as she laid down a weapon on table.

Maxx turned to the others after finishing his lunch. "When we get nearer I'll get into their communications through the back door and see what they have got. See if I can knock out a few of their systems along the way as well, start with non essential stuff." and then thought of something else "Is there any Gorn language in the data base?"

With out waiting for an answer Maxx went to check the data base it would be good to find a way in they might have to use it again on the way out. There was also something else he needed to do.
